This little boy of mine...

I have a big boy and a little boy.

This is my little boy:

He is the prettiest baby and the cutest thing ever. For reals, ever.

(I can't get over that face.)

Before he was born, when people would ask how I felt, my reply was, "Regular." Then he was here, and as he was getting his lungs and body de-gooped I could just look over where he was and cry - with no thoughts really, just feeling. Lotsa feeling.

Then I was handed my baby boy. I learned in church (what the?) that there's a rush of oxytocin at this point, facilitating the bond of the mother for the child. I looked at and held my little boy and felt that I want to give everything I have, everything that is me, to this little being. And now that's my regular.

It's horrible that he's already two months old. I'm nostalgic for his infant days.

6 days old

5 1/2 weeks old

7 1/2 weeks old

But gee whiz this kid is so fun and cute. He makes goober faces when awake and growls in his sleep. "He simpers and smirks and makes love to us all."

He doesn't laugh yet, but will give some smiles when tickled. He likes dancing and when I rattle my pill bottles. And he loves running.

He's darling! Yep, the moment you hold your little baby you become a different person-a mommy-and you'll never be the same again! Being a mommy is such a blessing!
